Best Shopify wishlist apps reviewed in 2026
Wishlist apps are a common way to bring shoppers back to a Shopify store. But most of them look alike on the App Store and promise much the same thing. That makes it hard to tell which one suits your store until you've installed a few.
So I installed 7 Shopify wishlist apps on a test store and compared their features, pricing and merchant reviews. Below, you'll find what each one does well, where it falls short and the type of store it suits best.
Which Shopify wishlist apps made my shortlist?
I selected apps with a rating of 4.7 or higher and a new merchant review within the last 4 months. These 7 wishlist apps made my shortlist:
- Wishlist by Square: a free wishlist with save reports
- Vitals: all-in-one Shopify app with a wishlist and 40+ apps in one subscription
- Swym Wishlist Plus: wishlist data across email, SMS, ads and POS
- Wishlist - Wishify: hands-on setup help for small stores
- XB Wishlist: multiple lists on a free plan
- SE Wishlist Engine: reports that show who saved each product
- Hulk AI Wishlist & Favorites: price drop emails for planned sales
How did I review the best Shopify wishlist apps?
I installed each app on a test store, then went through each App Store listing, every plan and the newest and lowest-rated merchant reviews.
I looked at these details for each app:
- Saving: where shoppers can save and whether they need an account
- Sharing: how shoppers can send a list to someone else
- Alerts: which emails reach shoppers after they save a product
- Lists: whether shoppers can keep multiple lists or gift registries
- Reports: what each app tells you about saved products
- AI features: what AI does in each app, such as customising the wishlist or recommending products
- Integrations: which email, POS and marketing tools it works with
- Setup: how long each app took me to get a wishlist live
- Design: how each wishlist looked on my test store and whether it matched my theme
- Speed: how each app changed my test store's page speed
- Pricing: how each app charges, its plan limits and what each plan includes
- Reviews: what the newest and lowest-rated App Store reviews say, including about support
I ranked the list by where I'd start for a typical store, with the simplest wishlist first, then Vitals, then the dedicated apps.
Wishlist by Square is a part of Square Apps, the company I write for. I've noted its limitations too.
What did I find across these Shopify wishlist apps?
I found 5 main wishlist options across the apps I reviewed. The apps differ on which ones they include, so check which you need before you compare prices:
- Guest wishlists: shoppers save with no account. All 7 apps include them, but Wishify keeps them for its paid plans.
- Sharing: shoppers send a list by email, link or social media. All 7 apps include it, but Wishify keeps it for its paid plans.
- Price and stock alerts: emails when a saved product drops in price or returns to stock. Vitals, Swym, XB, SE and Hulk include both.
- Multiple lists: shoppers keep separate lists, such as one for each room or person. Swym, Wishify, XB and Hulk include them.
- Gift registries: shoppers keep a list for an occasion and share it. Swym, SE and Hulk list them.
I also found these differences beyond the main options:
- Reports: all 7 apps show which products shoppers save. SE also shows who saved each one, and XB and Hulk report the revenue that wishlists bring in.
- Reminder emails: Vitals includes them in its Wishlist settings, and Wishify keeps automatic reminders for its $29.99/month plan.
- POS: Swym, XB and Hulk connect wishlists to Shopify POS, so store staff can see them. XB and Hulk keep this for their Pro plans.
- AI features: Swym works with Shopify Sidekick for customisation. Hulk offers AI product recommendations. With Vitals MCP, you can ask Claude or ChatGPT which products shoppers save most. I didn't find AI features on the other 4 listings.
- Add to cart: on all 7 apps, shoppers can add a saved product to the cart from their list. Vitals and Wishlist by Square also add an Add all to cart button when a list holds 3 or more products.
- Setup: Vitals took me 2 minutes when I asked Claude to do it, the least of the 7, and Wishlist by Square took me 3 minutes. Each of the other 5 apps took 4-5 minutes.
- Design: all 7 apps looked attractive on my test store.
- Speed: in my test, Vitals had the smallest effect on page speed for a store using several apps, because its 40+ apps share one script. Separate review, bundle and upsell apps would each add their own script. For a single wishlist app, Wishlist by Square was the fastest.
What are the best Shopify wishlist apps?
Wishlist by Square is my top pick, because it's free, with no paid plans. Vitals comes next for stores that want 40+ apps in one subscription. The 5 reviews after it are dedicated wishlist apps, and I'd look there for multiple lists or gift registries.
1. Wishlist by Square

Wishlist by Square is a free wishlist app that adds a save button near Add to cart and a list page for shoppers. Choose it when you want a wishlist on your store and a clear view of what shoppers save, with no bill to plan for.
Why I like this app:
The whole app costs nothing, and I couldn't find a limit on saved items or a paid plan to move up to. Shoppers save with no account, and I can see the top saved products and total wishlist value, which helps me decide what to restock or promote. I had the button live in 3 minutes. However, I didn't find email alerts, multiple lists or POS support, and adding a product to the cart removes it from the list.
Features:
- A one-click wishlist button near Add to cart
- Guest saving, with no customer account needed
- A wishlist page where shoppers manage products and add them to the cart
- Editable text, colours, icons and placement
- Sharing by link or email
- A low stock notice and Add all to cart on the wishlist page
- Guest lists kept in the browser for a year, and the same list on any device for logged-in customers
- A top 10 products report, a live event log and CSV export
- 16 languages
I didn't find any AI features in it.
Pricing: Wishlist by Square is free:
- Free: all features, $0/month
Reviews: Wishlist by Square has 5.0 stars from 148 reviews on the Shopify App Store. Recent reviewers praise fast support and an easy install, and one singles out the top 10 products list. I didn't find any 1 or 2-star reviews. The one 3-star review has no text, so it doesn't say what the merchant found missing.
Best for: A store that wants a free wishlist with sharing and save reports, and doesn't need email alerts.

2. Vitals

Vitals is an all-in-one Shopify app, and its Wishlist app is one of 40+ apps in one subscription. It makes more sense when you also need reviews, email marketing or pop-ups and don't want a separate app for each.
Why I like this app:
I found the most save and return points here, with 5 places to save, including collection and home page cards. I asked Claude to set up my wishlist, and it matched my store in 2 minutes, my fastest. In my test, the hearts on collection cards looked highly customisable. The Wishlist app also has its own back in stock, price drop and low stock emails, plus wishlist reminders. But I didn't find multiple lists or gift registries, and $29.99/month only makes sense when I'd use more than the wishlist.
Features:
- Add to Wishlist buttons and hearts on product, collection, search and home page cards
- Guest saving, with the list kept in the browser for a year
- The same list on any device for logged-in customers
- A customer account wishlist page
- Sharing by copied link or email
- Add all to cart and product rating stars on the wishlist page
- Back in stock, price drop, low stock and wishlist reminder emails
- Rules that hide the button by price, discount, stock or product
- A Top 10 report, an event log and CSV export
- Vitals MCP, for asking Claude or ChatGPT about saved products
- 40+ apps in the same subscription
Pricing: Vitals charges by monthly orders, with all 40+ apps on every plan:
- Starter: $29.99/month, up to 200 orders
- Growth: $79/month, 201 to 1,000 orders
- Pro: $179/month, 1,001 to 5,000 orders
- Trial: 7 days
Reviews: Vitals has 4.9 stars from 2,974 reviews on the Shopify App Store. Recent reviewers like having many apps together and praise customer support.
Best for: A store that wants a wishlist with its own alerts, plus reviews, email marketing and pop-ups in one subscription, instead of paying for a separate app for each.

3. Swym Wishlist Plus

Swym Wishlist Plus is a wishlist app for stores that want to use saved products across their marketing and retail. Choose it when your wishlist data needs to reach email, SMS, ads or your in-store team.
Why I like this app:
I found the longest integration list here, including Klaviyo, Attentive and Tapcart. Reminders and price drop and stock alerts come on every plan, and store staff can see customer wishlists through Shopify POS. Setup took me 4-5 minutes, though one merchant says new AI features make installing harder. The main drawback is Smart Save, which adds a product to a list after repeat visits, and reviewers say it used up their monthly actions. Swym says you can turn it off, so check that setting on day one.
Features:
- Guest wishlists, multiple lists and gift registries
- Sharing by email, SMS, social media or a direct link
- Automated email and SMS reminders, plus price drop and restock alerts
- Staff access to wishlists through Shopify POS
- A Customer Accounts extension
- Meta ads retargeting and customer segments on Pro
- REST APIs and a JavaScript SDK on Premium
- Customisation through Shopify Sidekick
Pricing: Swym charges by monthly wishlist actions:
- Starter: $29.99/month, 3,000 actions
- Pro: $59.99/month, 10,000 actions
- Premium: $99.99/month, 25,000 actions
- Trial: 30 days
Reviews: Swym has 4.7 stars from 1,477 reviews on the Shopify App Store. Recent reviewers name agents such as Karthik and Varshini who helped them customise it. Low-star reviewers report a button that lags or doesn't show and reports that take hours or days to update.
Best for: A larger retailer that wants wishlist data in its email, SMS, ads and POS.

4. Wishlist - Wishify

Wishlist - Wishify is a wishlist app with sharing and reminder emails on its paid plans. I'd choose it when you'd rather have the developer set the wishlist up for you.
Why I like this app:
I like that free app setup comes with the free plan, and one merchant says support had a hidden button running in under 20 minutes. Paid plans start low too, at $5.99/month for sharing, guest saving and a heart icon in the header. I had the free plan running in 4-5 minutes. But the free plan stops at 100 saved items a month, and automatic reminder emails only arrive on the $29.99/month plan. Its listing also shows English only.
Features:
- Add to cart from the wishlist
- Multiple lists
- Sharing by email, Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter on paid plans
- Guest wishlists and a collection page widget on paid plans
- Data export on paid plans
- Full reports on Premium
- Automatic wishlist reminder emails on Advanced
I didn't find any AI features in it.
Pricing: Wishify charges by monthly wishlist items:
- Free: up to 100 items
- Professional: $5.99/month, 1,000 items
- Premium: $12.99/month, up to 3,000 items
- Advanced: $29.99/month, up to 10,000 items
- Trial: 7 days
Reviews: Wishify has 4.9 stars from 217 reviews on the Shopify App Store. Recent reviewers praise hands-on setup, and one says it works perfectly with the developer's help but is harder to do alone. Its 2 low-star reviews mention a missing heart on collection pages and buttons appearing 3 times.
Best for: A boutique owner who wants the developer to handle the setup.

5. XB Wishlist

XB Wishlist is a wishlist app where shoppers can save from product cards, product pages and the cart. Choose it when you want multiple lists without a monthly fee, and may add alerts later.
Why I like this app:
XB's free plan goes furthest for shoppers, with unlimited wishlist items, guest saving and multiple lists. I also like Save for Later, which keeps a product the shopper removes from the cart. The Basic plan adds back in stock and price drop emails. It took me 4-5 minutes to set up, and recent merchants also like its clean look. The main drawback is its short track record, with 63 reviews and a September 2024 launch, and one free-plan merchant says support only pointed them to the docs.
Features:
- Guest wishlists and multiple lists on the free plan
- Save for Later in the cart
- CSV import and export
- Back in stock and price drop emails on Basic
- Wishlist in the customer account page on Basic
- Shopify POS integration and collaborator wishlists on Pro
- Email through System Mail, SMTP, Klaviyo or Shopify Flow
I didn't find any AI features in it.
Pricing: XB charges a flat monthly fee for each plan's features:
- Free: unlimited wishlist items
- Basic: $11.95/month
- Pro: $25.95/month
- Trial: 7 days
Reviews: XB has 4.8 stars from 63 reviews on the Shopify App Store. Recent reviewers like guest saving and easy setup, and one had a missing header icon fixed the same day. A low-star reviewer says only that it isn't working properly.
Best for: A store whose shoppers want separate lists, with no monthly fee to start.

6. SE Wishlist Engine

SE Wishlist Engine is a wishlist and alert app with reports on saved products and the customers behind them. It makes more sense when you sell limited stock and want to follow up with the shoppers who saved it.
Why I like this app:
The reports show who saved each product, which I found more useful than a plain top products list when I want to plan a follow-up. Every plan has unlimited wishlists, so a busy month doesn't move my plan. The app was live in 4-5 minutes. One seasonal seller says a popular item's 80 units sold in 2 minutes, helped by shoppers moving saved items into the cart. But it has no free plan, Basic has no email alerts and its 5-day trial is the shortest here.
Features:
- Guest wishlists, with a wishlist page and pop-up
- Sharing on social media
- Reports on the most-saved products and who saved them
- Wishlist reminders and low stock, price drop and restock alerts on Advanced
- Import and export, Meta pixel and Klaviyo on Advanced
- Multi-language and multi-currency support on Premium
- Shopify Flow on Premium
I didn't find any AI features in it.
Pricing: SE charges by plan features and monthly emails:
- Basic: $7.99/month, no email alerts
- Advanced: $19.99/month, 10,000 emails
- Premium: $39.99/month, 25,000 emails
- Plus: $79.99/month, unlimited emails
- Trial: 5 days
Reviews: SE has 4.9 stars from 276 reviews on the Shopify App Store. Recent reviewers praise support on customisations, and one needed help with the install, which technicians fixed quickly. A 2023 reviewer reports manual code for cart and collection buttons and 403 errors, which the developer put down to a removed widget script.
Best for: A seasonal seller with limited stock and shoppers who plan ahead for a launch.

7. Hulk AI Wishlist & Favorites

Hulk AI Wishlist & Favorites is a wishlist app with price drop, low stock and back in stock emails, plus gift registries. I'd choose it when you plan your sales around what shoppers have already saved.
Why I like this app:
Hulk's listing suggests a practical holiday plan. I'd check the most-saved products and choose what to discount, then shoppers who saved them receive a price drop email when the sale starts. Those alerts arrive on the $9.90/month Growth plan. I had the wishlist live in 4-5 minutes. However, 2 reviews from 2025 report problems to test for: duplicate analytics events from Meta and Google IDs entered in the app, and a team install that damaged the cart and login icons.
Features:
- Guest wishlists and a My Wishlist page
- Sharing by email and social media
- Gift registries
- Price drop and back in stock alerts on Growth
- Multiple wishlists and Klaviyo, Mailchimp and Omnisend on Growth
- Advanced reports, Google Sheets export, Zapier and POS on Pro
- API access and priority support on Scale
- AI product recommendations
Pricing: Hulk charges by monthly wishlist items:
- Free: 500 items
- Growth: $9.90/month, 5,000 items
- Pro: $24.90/month, 25,000 items
- Scale: $49.90/month, unlimited items
- Trial: 30 days
The listing also shows a lower price for new users for the first 3 months, so check the offer when you install.
Reviews: Hulk has 4.9 stars from 141 reviews on the Shopify App Store. Recent reviewers praise fast support, and one says Dino solved their issue quickly. Low-star reviews are older and include the tracking and install problems above.
Best for: A store that plans holiday sales around its most-saved products.

How do you choose the right Shopify wishlist app?
I'd decide what happens after a shopper saves a product, then check the cost of that feature at your monthly volume. I've put each app's rating, starting price and how it charges in this table:
| App | Rating | Starting price | Charges by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wishlist by Square | 5.0 from 148 reviews | Free | No charge |
| Vitals | 4.9 from 2,974 reviews | $29.99/month | Orders |
| Swym Wishlist Plus | 4.7 from 1,477 reviews | $29.99/month | Wishlist actions |
| Wishlist - Wishify | 4.9 from 217 reviews | Free, then $5.99/month | Wishlist items |
| XB Wishlist | 4.8 from 63 reviews | Free, then $11.95/month | Plan features |
| SE Wishlist Engine | 4.9 from 276 reviews | $7.99/month | Plan features and emails |
| Hulk AI Wishlist & Favorites | 4.9 from 141 reviews | Free, then $9.90/month | Wishlist items |
Features rule apps out quickly, so they're the first thing I'd check. I didn't find email alerts on Wishlist by Square or multiple lists on Vitals. List what shoppers need to do with their saved products, then check that the plan you can afford includes it.
In my test, Vitals needed the fewest changes to match my theme, because I asked Claude to set up my wishlist and it matched my store in 2 minutes. I also found theme problems coming up repeatedly in the reviews. An XB reviewer's header icon didn't appear, a Wishify reviewer's button didn't show and a Swym reviewer's button lagged. I'd add the button to a copy of your theme, then check your product pages, collection pages and header on your phone.
I'd check your email tool next, because alerts depend on it unless the app sends its own. Vitals, Swym, XB, SE and Hulk all list Klaviyo, while Wishlist by Square lists only Shopify Admin. With a physical shop, I'd also look at POS, which Swym, XB and Hulk support.
I found cost depends mainly on how each app counts. Wishify and Hulk count wishlist items, while Swym counts actions. XB, SE and Vitals don't limit saved products on the plans I read. On a cheaper plan, check what's missing, such as Wishify's reminder emails or SE's alerts.
I found support gets the most praise in recent reviews, and it also draws the sharpest complaints. Swym and Hulk reviewers often name the agent who helped them. Yet Swym also has low-star reviews about slow replies. I'd send a test question during your trial and time the reply.
Choose Wishlist by Square for a free wishlist with save reports, and Vitals if you'd use its other apps as well. Choose Swym for wishlist data across your marketing. Wishify suits stores that want setup help, while XB suits shoppers who want separate lists. SE makes more sense for limited stock launches and Hulk for sales planned around saved products.
How do wishlist alerts bring shoppers back?
Alerts email a shopper when something changes on a product they saved, such as its price or stock. That gives them a reason to return, while a saved list on its own waits for them to remember it.
The plan you need differs by app. Hulk starts at $9.90/month for price drop and back in stock alerts. XB starts at $11.95/month and SE at $19.99/month. Swym includes alerts on its $29.99/month Starter plan. Wishify offers reminder emails on its $29.99/month Advanced plan, and I didn't find price or stock alerts on its listing.
Vitals has its own back in stock, price drop and low stock emails, plus wishlist reminders, which you set up in Wishlist, then Settings, then Alerts. Its Wishlist app comes on every plan from $29.99/month.
The shopper's email is the limit. A guest who saves a product with no account may not have given you an address, so you can't email them. Check how each app collects an email from guests before you rely on alerts. Swym lists email opt-in capture on its Starter plan.
Do wishlists work with your email tool?
Most do, but the plan you need differs, and I didn't find a direct email connection on Wishlist by Square or Wishify.
Hulk is the cheapest full connection I found, with Klaviyo, Mailchimp and Omnisend on its $9.90/month Growth plan. SE connects Klaviyo at $19.99/month and Shopify Flow at $39.99/month.
Swym has the longest list, including Mailchimp, Postscript, Attentive and HubSpot, but its plans only name Klaviyo, Attentive and Omnisend from the $59.99/month Pro plan. XB can send its alerts through System Mail, SMTP, Klaviyo or Shopify Flow, so you don't need a separate tool to start.
Vitals lists Klaviyo and Omnisend, and its Wishlist app sends its own alerts and reminders. Wishify sends its own reminder emails on its $29.99/month plan. On Wishlist by Square, you can export saved items as a CSV, but that's a manual step.
The reviews show this can take some setting up. One Swym merchant sends reminder, restock and low stock emails that they designed in Klaviyo. Another needed support's help to connect their email automations, and a third says the notification email integration doesn't work properly.
I'd also check how far back an alert reaches. A 2023 Swym reviewer says back in stock emails only reached shoppers who had saved the product in the last 30 days. Connect your email tool during the trial, then trigger a test alert on a product you saved.
What counts toward a wishlist plan limit?
It depends on the app's unit. Wishify and Hulk count items, while Swym counts actions. Read each definition before you compare 5,000 of one with 5,000 of another.
Swym's unit caused the most complaints I found. Its Smart Save feature adds a product to a list after a shopper visits its page repeatedly, and that uses up actions. One merchant says it used up their limit before their store had launched. Swym says you can customise Smart Save or turn it off.
I also found apps with no limit on saved products. Wishlist by Square and XB's free plan don't list one, and SE's plans include unlimited wishlists. Hulk's limit ends at its $49.90/month Scale plan. Vitals charges by orders, so its price follows your store's orders.
Check what happens when you reach a limit before a sale. One Swym merchant says the app disabled their wishlist because they hadn't upgraded.
How do you set up your first Shopify wishlist?
I'd start on your product pages and your best-selling collection, because most shoppers will see the button there.
Use these steps with any of the apps:
- Install the app and check that your plan includes guest saving.
- Add the button near Add to cart, using the app block if your theme supports it.
- Add a heart to your collection cards and your header.
- Match the button text and colours to your theme.
- Save a product on your phone, with and without logging in.
- Add a saved product to the cart from your list.
- Turn on any alerts, then send yourself a test email.
Setup took me 2 minutes on Vitals, when I asked Claude to do it, 3 minutes on Wishlist by Square and 4-5 minutes on each of the others, but merchants report mixed experiences. Reviewers call Wishlist by Square and XB easy to install, while a Wishify reviewer found it harder without the developer's help. An SE reviewer needed help with the install, and a Swym reviewer says its newer AI features make installing more complicated.
I'd leave the wishlist live for a few weeks before you act on the reports, so your most-saved products reflect more than one busy day.
What changes in unusual situations?
I found the right app can change once your volumes rise, you sell in more markets, you need a plan-only feature or you move from another app.
At unusually high or seasonal volumes, I'd look at the plans without a saved-item limit. Wishlist by Square has no fee, XB stops at $25.95/month and Hulk stops at $49.90/month with unlimited items. SE's unlimited emails cost $79.99/month. Swym's top listed plan stops at 25,000 actions.
When you sell in more markets, check the storefront text as well as the listing's languages. Hulk lists 20 languages and Wishlist by Square 16. XB keeps multi-language support for Basic, and SE keeps multi-language and multi-currency support for Premium. One Swym reviewer complains about its translation options, so test this on a market you sell in.
Some features only appear on certain plans. Swym keeps Meta ads retargeting and Hulk keeps POS for their Pro plans. Swym says live chat comes on higher plans, so check this if chat support matters to you.
Moving from another app puts your shoppers' saved lists at risk, so check for import first. Swym, XB, SE and Hulk list import and export, though SE keeps it for Advanced and above. Wishify and Vitals offer export, and Vitals includes migration from other apps on its $179/month Pro plan. Wishlist by Square exports a CSV, but its help centre says it can't import lists from other apps yet. Export your existing lists before you remove the old app.
What are the benefits of a Shopify wishlist app?
A wishlist gives shoppers who aren't ready to buy a reason to come back, and it shows you which products they want. A wishlist app can't make them return by itself, so the follow-up matters.
Say 50 shoppers save a $60 jacket and you run a 10% sale. A price drop email can reach those who gave you an address, and if 5 of them buy at $54, that's $270 from a single email. You've given up $6 on each jacket, so check your margin before you discount. The app's monthly fee also counts against that $270.
The save counts also help with buying decisions. A product that shoppers save often but rarely buy may have a price or stock problem, and you can test this with a small sale. The limit is the time you'll spend reading reports and acting on them.
Before you install an app, decide what you'll do with the saved products each month.
What are some ideas for using a Shopify wishlist app?
I'd try price drop emails on your most-saved products first, because they use the data you already have. These 5 ideas suit different types of store:
- Planned sales: a clothing store discounts its 10 most-saved products at the start of a seasonal sale.
- Restock priority: a skincare store reorders the sold-out products that shoppers save most.
- Gift lists: shoppers at a jewellery store share a list with family before a birthday.
- Launch lists: shoppers at a seasonal plant seller save products before limited stock goes on sale.
- In-store help: a furniture store's staff open a customer's saved list in the shop through POS.
I'd test the first idea on your next sale, using your most-saved products report to choose what to discount.
Which Shopify wishlist app would I start with?
I'd start with Wishlist by Square. It's free and it shows you what shoppers save, so you can find out whether your shoppers use a wishlist before you pay for one. Choose Vitals instead when you'd use its other apps too, or Hulk when you want price drop emails at a low monthly cost. Install it on your best-selling products, then check your top saved products after a few weeks.
What do merchants often ask about Shopify wishlist apps?
How much does a Shopify wishlist app cost?
Paid plans on these apps start between $5.99/month and $29.99/month, and Wishlist by Square is free. The top plans I could see reach $99.99/month on Swym, while Vitals reaches $179/month with its 40+ apps. The cost changes with your saved items, wishlist actions, emails or orders, depending on the app.
Does Shopify include wishlist features without an app?
No, you'll need an app or custom theme code. I didn't find a built-in wishlist in Shopify, and Shopify Community answers point merchants to third-party apps. Custom code also leaves you without the reports and alerts that these apps offer, unless your developer builds them too.
Are there free Shopify wishlist apps?
Yes, I found a free plan on 4 of these apps. Wishlist by Square is free in full, and XB's free plan has unlimited items. Hulk stops at 500 a month, and Wishify stops at 100. Vitals, Swym and SE have no free plan, though each has a free trial.
Do wishlist apps slow down a store?
They can, but the effect differs by app. In my test, Vitals had the smallest effect on page speed for a store using several apps, because its 40+ apps load from one script. For a wishlist on its own, Wishlist by Square was the fastest. One Hulk merchant says removing analytics IDs from the app's settings lifted their Lighthouse scores by over 10 points, and a Swym merchant reports a button that lags a couple of seconds. Test any app on your own store before and after you install it.
Can shoppers use a wishlist without an account?
Yes, all 7 apps support guest wishlists, although Wishify keeps them for its paid plans. On Vitals and Wishlist by Square, a guest's list stays in the browser for a year, and logged-in customers see the same list on any device. Check how each app handles guests who switch devices, because a browser-based list may not follow them.
Can shoppers share a wishlist?
Yes, all 7 apps include sharing. Swym offers email, SMS, social media and a direct link, while Vitals and Wishlist by Square offer a link or email. On Wishify, you'll need a paid plan.
